MAJORITY OF ONE - RAGE EP, CLEAR YELLOW

The second MOO release on my blog and probably the better of the two. Again powerful hardcore with great lyrics and this time I got a full colour simplistic double sided cover and clear orange vinyl. I picked this up at a gig they played in Middlesbrough on their Euro tour sometime in 91. I remember that one of the MOO guitarists had went missing in Amsterdam a couple of nights earlier (apparently due to homesickness although at the time rumours were abound that he'd broke edge and ran off with a hooker!!) so they played as a 4 piece but still rocked hard.

They played at Wigan Transport Club and the singer, Dirk Hemsath had to jump off stage mid set and run through the crown to the exit to go and puke outside. Most people would just puke I suppose.

They had a promo video for the song "Foxhole" from their LP and it is the cheesiest thing ever. They were going for the S.H.A.R.P. angle for a while and in this video a bunck white skins and a bunch of black fellas are mobbed up to have a scrap against each other, but then MOO turn up and get them to shake hands and everyone lived happily ever after. So funny.

Does that record label say "MOO CREW"? ha ha ha ha ha. I never had this record...only having the One Man 7", and then the discography CD...but I would buy this just for the retardedness of the MOO CREW label.

Decent enough band, but when they tried to go for that indie sound, that's when they lost me.

I love this record so much. I really think they are so under rated.

I've a spare copy of their first 7" if anyone needs one.

These MOO posts made me wonder about Doghouse Records. I used to like a lot of the indie rock stuff they started putting out in the mid-late 90s too. I'm surprised the label is still going, although it has (unsurprisingly) turned to shit now. Like MAJOR shit.
